Report: Bremen preparing to snap up Burkinabé striker

The news portal "africa foot" is currently reporting that SV Werder Bremen are preparing to sign Burkina Faso national team striker Mohamed Konaté.

SV Werder Bremen are - according to one source - preparing to snap up striker Mohamed Konaté of Russian Premiership side Akhmat Grozny on a free transfer. The 26-year-old - who maintains an estimated market worth of €3 million in the latest transfermarkt listings - would constitute a reasonable bargain. African footballing news aggregator "africa foot" claims that the 25-times-capped international is about to sign a three-year-deal in the Hanseatic City State.

Konaté just completed another successful season for club in which he scored 13 goals and pocketed an assist in 35 appearances across all competitions. He represented his country once again at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, scoring a goal in the Stallions' Round Two draw with Algeria. The tall forward - out of contract since July 1st - has also played in Belarus, Kazakstan, and Armenia in addition to Russia.
