VfB Stuttgart have apparently set their sights on Almugera Kabar from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sport BILD, talks have already taken place between the Swabian club and the 20-year-old left-back.

Kabar would be considered as backup option for first-choice defender Maximilian Mittelstädt in Bad Cannstatt.

However, according to the report, Dortmund is demanding a transfer fee of €5million – a fee deemed too much for Stuttgart.

Given the defender has only played six games for the BVB first team, it remains to be seen if an alternative solution can be found.

Last winter, the German U20 international was very close to a move to Hamburger SV, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Now Kabar is still pushing for a change and BVB would also like to remove him from their payroll two years before his contract expires.
