Goal anthem musician Schilling confirms Mittelstädt's Euro spot

Musician Peter Schilling has confirmed Maximilian Mittelstädt's selection for the 2024 European Championship via an instagram post.

German synth wave artist Peter Schilling - the composer of the German national team's "Major Tom" goal anthem - has confirmed VfB Stuttgart fullback Maximilian Mittelstädt's selection for Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann's Euro roster. Schilling dons a pink DFB alternate kit in the video and serenades the Berlin-native whilst watching a replay of Mittelstädt's goal scored against the Netherlands in a March friendly.

Mittelstädt is now officially the second VfB Stuttgart player to earn a place on Nagelsmann's tournament roster. Mittelstädt's club teammate Chris Führich's spot was confirmed earlier today via a sticker distributed by a bakery located in the Black Forest. News of the Mittelstädt's nomination broke shortly after a Frankfurt art museum confirmed Leroy Sané's spot via a portrait unveiled in one of its famous collections.
