Leverkusen reportedly strip Andrich of captaincy

Sky Germany reports that Edmond Tapsoba will replace Robert Andrich as Bayer Leverkusen captain for the 2026/27 season.

Robert Andrich has been stripped of his captaincy duties by Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky Germany.

The German broadcaster reports that Edmond Tapsoba will take over as captain for the 2026/27 season, with Patrik Schick having “good chances” of being named vice-captain.

Andrich, meanwhile, has reportedly been told that he can leave the club this summer, with his prospects of regular playing time under new head coach Carles Martínez looking bleak.

The 31-year-old central midfielder has played for Leverkusen since 2021, when he joined from 1. FC Union Berlin.
