Newcastle United are said to be considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane.

According to Bild, the Magpies are interested in signing the highly-rated 19-year-old, alongside Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Touré, who is reportedly close to joining the club in a deal worth around €50 million.

However, it's unclear if Kofane would be open to a move to St James' Park.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen are reluctant to sell the Cameroon international after just one season at the club, but an exceptional offer could prompt Die Werkself to reconsider their position.

Reports in late March valued Kofane at between €60 million and €70 million. Soon after, Kofane's agent, Eric Depolo, described the teenager as a "€100 million player".

Depolo also claimed that Arsenal had shown "genuine" interest in the Leverkusen forward.
