RB Leipzig to present Liverpool boss as their new sporting director?

Sport Bild reports that RB Leipzig are looking to appoint Liverpool boss Michael Edwards as their new sporting director.
RB Leipzig want to bring in Michael Edwards from Liverpool as their new sporting director, according to Sport Bild.

Markus Krösche left the job to move to Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season, and Leipzig are yet to confirm his successor.

Edwards, the current sporting director of Liverpool, is said to have told the Premier League club that he wants to leave in the summer of 2022.

In an interview posted on Leipzig's website, club CEO Oliver Mintzlaff recently revealed that he expects to announce Krösche's successor 'very soon'.

"I can confirm however that we are currently in productive discussions and have the feeling that we've identified the right candidates for our club and our philosophy. We are confident that we will be welcoming the new sporting director here very soon," Mintzlaff said.

Currently, commercial director Florian Scholz and technical director Christopher Vivell are taking care of the sporting director role together.
