Kimmich likely to miss Bayern's clash with Augsburg for coronavirus reasons
Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that Joshua Kimmich is a doubt for tomorrow's derby game against Augsburg because he has been in contact with a person, who might be infected with COVID-19.
Joshua Kimmich is a doubt for Bayern München's Bundesliga game against Augsburg on Friday, head coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed at the pre-match press conference.
Kimmich wasn't in training today because he has been in contact with someone suspected to be infected with coronavirus.
At the moment, the German international, who is unvaccinated, is waiting for a test result.
"Kimmich wasn't in training today as a precaution. He was in touch with a person, who might have corona. For now, we have to wait for his PCR test result. We'll know more later today," Nagelsmann told reporters.
In addition, Bayern will be without Niklas Süle and Josip Stanisic, who have both tested positive for COVID-19.
The Bayern coach also revealed that Kingsley Coman will certainly miss tomorrow's Bavarian derby.
"Kingsley has a tiny muscle problem. If the game had taken place on Saturday, he would have been part of the squad, but we don't want to take any risks."
Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies is unlikely to start after playing for Canada during the international break.
"'Phonzie' travelled a lot, played a lot, so there's a high probability that he won't start tomorrow," revealed Nagelsmann.
