Fantasy Bundesliga: Template team and potential transfers for Matchday 21
Matchday 20 was a good week for the template team as the two transfers of Gvardiol and Wirtz were on the mark, raking up 20 points and 13 points respectively. We now move into Matchday 21, taking a look at the transfers to make and essential players to bring in ahead of this weekend.
In this article, we take a look at our selected template team as well as the players we can target to bring in this matchday, using our 3 transfers.
In this regard, the word 'template' refers to players who are highly owned, regularly scoring good fantasy points and being main players for their teams.
Below, you'll find the template team from last week and the latest Fantasy score of each player.
Goalkeepers:
Mark Flekken, Freiburg (7.8M), 9 points
Manuel Riemann, Bochum (6M), 0 points
Defenders:
Benjamin Pavard, Bayern (12.4M), 4 points
Aarón Martín, Mainz (3.5M), 2 points
Jeremie Frimpong, Leverkusen (7.9M), 20 points
Josko Gvardiol, RB Leipzig (11.1M), 20 points
Cedric Brunner, Bielefeld (5.5M), 10 points
Midfielders:
Patrick Wimmer, Bielefeld (5.8M), 20 points
Filip Kostic, Frankfurt (17.6M), 10 points
Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg (15.1M), 7 points
Christopher Nkunku, RB Leipzig (17.6M), 5 points
Florian Wirtz, Leverkusen (14.2M), 13 points
Strikers:
Robert Lewandowski, Bayern (22.2M), 12 points
Erling Haaland, Dortmund (19M), 9 points
Patrik Schick, Leverkusen (16.3M), 6 points
TRANSFER 1:
Erling Haaland OUT, Thomas Müller IN
Müller is having another great season and is the leading assist provider in the Bundesliga with 16 assists. With Bayern looking in ominous attacking form, Müller is the best way to double up on the Bayern attack as he ensures almost 90 mins in most matches and starts regularly without risk of rotation. A home game against Leipzig, who have been on patchy form and looking defensively shaky, offers a great chance for Müller to add to his attacking returns.
TRANSFER 2:
Filip Kostic OUT, Jesper Lindstrøm IN
With Kostic being out for the game against Stuttgart due to flu, it represents an opportunity to bring his fellow teammate Lindström into our team. Playing either just behind the striker or on the right flank, he has looked threatening, taking lots of shots and creating chances. The only thing missing is being clinical in front of goal as he has missed a lot of big chances. With a game against Stuttgart, who have looked defensively suspect, Lindström is expected to have a good game.
TRANSFER 3:
Josko Gvardiol OUT, Danilo Soares IN
With the template team looking in good order, we decided to take out last week’s best defender Gvardiol due to his fixture against Bayern. The prospects don't look bright for Leipzig against a rampant Bayern side. So we look towards the standalone Friday fixture and bring in Soares, who plays as right back and has the highest number of duels won in the league amongst defenders. A match-up against goal shy Hertha can provide a good opportunity for a clean sheet.
