Confirmed: Adli out for the season

Leverkusen quickly confirmed reports surfacing earlier in the day concerning the loss of versatile attacker Amine Adli for the year.

Creative solutions are once again called for when B04 head-coach Gerardo Seoane builds his next XI.
The long list of players out for the duration of the season grows at Leverkusen. On Sunday afternoon, Germany's red company team quickly confirmed reports surfacing earlier in the day about the status of French U21 international Amine Adli. A thigh injury sustained on international duty will sideline the 21-year-old for the rest of the year.

Adli has played just about every offensive position for Werkself trainer Gerardo Seoane this season, including lead striker. The youngster has scored four goals and chipped in a further four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

In a statement released by the club, Bayer also reported that Florian Wirtz underwent a successful operation for his ACL tear. The loss of Wirtz leaves Seoane seeking solutions at the no. ten position. The B04 trainer moved Moussa Diaby into the role in the most recent league match.

Newly-acquired striker Sardar Azmoun could conceivably work from the ten-spot. Karim Bellarabi or Paulinho might also be options to fill in. Unfortunately, the most straightforward option (Kerem Demirbay) will not be available for the next league match due to an accumulated yellow card suspension.

It was not unheard of for Seoane's predecessor Peter Bosz to use Patrik Schick (currently on the comeback trail after injury) as a false-nine. Seoane might try this unconventional route with either Schick or Lucas Alario.
