Gladbach without Thuram, Netz and Hofmann against Mainz
Several Gladbach players are unavailable for the upcoming game against Mainz, including Marcus Thuram, Luca Netz and Jonas Hofmann.
Borussia Mönchengladbach will be without a number of players when they face Mainz in the Bundesliga this Sunday.
Tony Jantschke (COVID-19), Marcus Thuram (adductor), Luca Netz (muscular problem) and Marvin Friedrich (abnormal blood count) are all sidelined, Gladbach coach Adi Hütter announced at a press conference on Friday.
He also revealed that the game comes too soon for Jonas Hofmann, who is expected back in team training next week.
On the bright side for Gladbach, Yann Sommer, Matthias Ginter and captain Lars Stindl were passed fit.
"Ginter and Sommer were able to take part in team training again and are options for Sunday," said Hütter.
"Stindl is back in full training and is performing very well. He is an option for Mainz. We are delighted that he is back."
