Confirmed: Stöger returns to Bochum, Góralski reportedly set for introduction soon

VfL Bochum confirmed that they had re-acquired midfielder Kevin Stöger on a free transfer on Friday afternoon.

Stöger is reportedly one of two incoming transfers to have passed Bochum medicals yesterday.

An introduction of Polish midfielder Jacek Góralski may be forthcoming.
VfL Bochum have completed the transfer of one of their former players targeted for the 2022/23 roster. Whereas Freiburg's Janik Haberer ended up switching to 1. FC Union Berlin, Kevin Stöger will be back in blue-and-white on the Castroper Straße. The 1848ers confirmed the 28-year-old's arrival on a free transfer Friday afternoon.

Stöger--who played two seasons with Bochum in the 2. Bundesliga--returns to his old stomping ground after two seasons with Fortuna Düsseldorf and an uneventful campaign last year with FSV Mainz 05.

"Kevin Stöger knows the Bundesliga and knows the VfL," club sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz remarked in a statement, "We have been dealing with him for a long period of time and are pleased to have obtained him on a free."

"The goal is clearly to stay in the league again, and I'll give everything to achieve that," Stöger--scorer of five combined goals for the club--added in his own statement.

In other Bochum news, the club should have another new incoming transfer to confirm very soon. Polish international Jacek Góralski reportedly passed a medical yesterday.

The 29-year-old former PFC Ludogorets Razgrad defensive midfielder has been rehabilitating his career in Kazakhstan over the past two years and should come to the Castroper for around €1-2 million.
