Havertz praises Tuchel: "He made me a better player"

Chelsea and Germany attacker Kai Havertz is a big fan of new Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel.
Kai Havertz has praised new Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel, saying the 49-year-old made him a "better player" at Chelsea.

Havertz, who played under Tuchel from January 2021 to September 2022, was particularly impressed by his former manager's meticulousness.

"We worked every day to make sure every pass was played with the right amount of power. Not too soft, not too hard, but sharp - just perfect," the 23-year-old told Bild's "Phrasenmäher" podcast.

Although Tuchel's perfectionism sometimes annoyed Havertz's teammates, the attacker felt he was in the best of hands with the 49-year-old.

"No matter how good the games were, if you had a bad pass, he was never completely satisfied.

"He definitely made me a better player. He taught me how important every little detail is," said the 34-time Germany international.
