Hertha confirm Dardai's reinstatement: "I didn't have to think too long when the call came."

Hertha BSC officially confirmed the re-hiring of head-coach Pal Dardai on Sunday afternoon. Statements from club and coach were released with an introductory presser scheduled for tomorrow at noon. Dardai's current contract only runs through the end of the season.
Pal Dardai is back in charge of Hertha BSC for his third stint as the senior team's gaffer. After hinting that a coaching change might be coming at the beginning of the weekend, the capital city's Charlottenburg side quickly confirmed reports emerging Sunday morning concerning the release of Sandro Schwarz and Dardai's re-instatement.

Hertha have now replaced their head-coach with just a few fixtures for the second consecutive season. Felix Magath managed to steer "die alte Dame" clear of relegation via the playoffs last year. Dardai himself helped Hertha avoid the drop on the penultimate matchday of the 2020/21 campaign.

"Everyone knows my relationship with Hertha BSC, so I didn't have to think long when the call came," Dardai noted in a statement released by the club, "There are six games left, possibly two more, and I will do everything I can with the team to make sure this club stays in the Bundesliga. It won't be an easy task, but I'm looking forward to it."

"I am very pleased that Pal has given us the commitment to take over the team in this challenging situation for Hertha BSC," sporting director Benjamin Weber added, "Pal has already shown twice that he can stabilize a team and lead it out of such situations with a clear plan. We are convinced of that now as well."

Dardai will be formally introduced at a noon presser tomorrow.
