Füllkrug remains out for Bayern

SV Werder Bremen head coach Ole Werner confirmed that lead-striker Niclas Füllkrug would again be out for the weekend encounter against league-leaders FC Bayern München.
Niclas Füllkrug's persistent calf problems will continue to sideline the league's leading goal-scorer this weekend against FC Bayern München. Werder Bremen trainer Ole Werner confirmed this at his Thursday presser. The 30-year-old is set to miss his fourth consecutive fixture. Werner noted that there did exist some hope that Füllkrug could be available to face RB Leipzig next week.

For the last three fixtures, Werner has been deploying on-loan Wolfsburg attacker Maximilian Philipp alongside Marvin Ducksch in attack. This looks to be the case again, even if recent results have been a bit more mixed. Philipp scored his first Bundesliga goal in well over a year against SC Freiburg on matchday 28. The two subsequent performances have been less effective.
