Kicker Report: Köln work on swap deal for Wiesbaden's Hollerbach

Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that 1. FC Köln are working on a potential swap deal to acquire striker Benedict Hollerbach from newly promoted SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
Former FC Bayern München campus and VfB Stuttgart academy man Benedict Hollerbach is generating interest among top tier and 2. Bundesliga sides after his prolific season for newly promoted second division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden. The 22-year-old netted 14 league goals in the 2022/23 3. Liga campaign in addition to scoring three goals in the two-legged promotion-relegation playoffs that enabled his club to earn promotion against DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

Though Hollerbach quickly extended with his Hessen-based club following promotion, several other clubs are said to be interested in procuring him for the coming campaign. Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that 1. FC Köln - known for plucking lower-tier attacking talent at budget rates under the regime of sporting director Christian Keller - are the most active organization working with Wiesbaden on a transfer.

Kicker further notes that Wiesbaden aren't necessarily looking for a fee either. Hollerbach could head to the cathedral city in exchange for one of the strikers on head-coach Steffen Baumgart's roster. The most obvious candidate for a trade would be 30-year-old Armenian international Sargis Adamyan. Köln are known to be looking to cut the veteran loose and the player himself might fancy a move back down to the second tier.
