Losilla slams Bochum's performance after loss: "Not good enough for the Bundesliga."

VfL Bochum skipper Anthony Losilla had clear words for his team following their humiliating 0-5 loss to VfB Stuttgart on the 2023/24 Bundesliga's opening weekend.

A 5-0 rout certainly wasn't the way that VfL Bochum - after struggling in pre-season after getting dumped out of the DFB Pokal - wished to start their third year back in the German top flight. Long-time squad captain Anthony Losilla summed matters when speaking to the Sky microphones afterward.

The 37-year-old signed a one-year contract-extension with his club of nearly a decade in order to play one more season in the top flight. Understandably enough, the Frenchman talked himself into a rage.

"Stuttgart were ten classes better than us in every way today," Losilla told his interviewer, "They were much more aggressive than us and much more secure on the ball than us. We had no grip at all. Everything went wrong. We fully deserved to lose."

"We have to sit down together and analyze this game more deeply," Losilla continued, "Because we can't present ourselves like this. That's a fact. This is not good enough for the Bundesliga."

Bochum must fave Revier rivals Dortmund next week.
