Hoffenheim loan prospect Damar to Beier's old station

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have loaned 19-year-old midfielder out to the same 2. Bundesliga side from which attacker Maximilian Beier just returned.
After making six top-flight appearances for Hoffenheim last season, 19-year-old German youth international Muhammed Damar will head to Hannover 96 on a season-long loan-stint. The teenage talent is headed over to precisely the same loan station from which German striker Maximilian Beier just returned.

Beier was initially loaned out to Hannover in the autumn of 2021. After having his loan extended for another season, Beier returned to the TSG having scored 10 goals in the 2. Bundesliga. The 20-year-old scored a goal and garnered an assist in Saturday's comeback victory.

The Kraichgauer will be hoping for similar returns for Damar, a promising player for the German U19s. Damar has scored six goals at German youth level. Together with club-mate Umut Tohumcu,. Damar has become one of the pillars of the U19s. He can play as a six, eight, or ten.

"Mo is a young, highly talented player who we believe will make the breakthrough in our Bundesliga squad," TSG developmental director Pirmin Schwegler noted in a club statement, "He has made excellent progress in recent months and, in our view, is ready to play an important role at an ambitious second-division club.

"We have had good experiences in the past with the loan of Maximilian Beier to Hannover 96," Schwegler also noted, "and we are sure that Mo, with his enormous footballing quality, will also make a big step forward."

"With Muhammed, we are gaining a highly talented player who can be used variably in midfield and on the attack," H96 sporting director Marcus Mann noted, "He is still a young player, but has already completed his second training camp as part of the professional team at Hoffenheim and trained there at Bundesliga level for the whole of last season."

"You don't have to make a secret of the fact that I had an exchange with Maxi Beier in advance, who played for two years in Hannover and got his chances as a young player," Damar himself added,T"hat's why it was a conscious decision to go to 96. I come with high motivation, want to prove myself here, take my chances, and make the next step."
