Thomas Müller made a big difference off the bench for Bayern Munich tonight, coming on to set up Mathys Tel's winner in a 2-1 Champions League win over FC Copenhagen.

Speaking after the game, Müller shared his thoughts on the win - and his own role in it.

"It all worked out in the end. For me personally, it was great to be involved in a goal after coming on as a substitute. It's also nice to come back, that's what distinguishes a team. Even if we have to blame ourselves for the fact that we have fallen behind," said Müller.

"But it's a Champions League game, we're here at FC Copenhagen, they didn't lose a single game at home last year, not even against Manchester City. They know what they're doing and they let us feel it.

"We’ll take the three points and hopefully see the lessons on Sunday," said Müller with a view to Bayern's upcoming game against Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

The veteran striker has been fighting hard for playing time this season, with the 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on September 15 the last game he has started. Asked about his role in the Bayern team, he replied:

"I'm happy for any praise, but I don't know if I have a new role. I'm just a regular squad player fighting for minutes. At the end of the day, it's the coach's decision and we have to go with that. But I'm definitely ready to bite."
