Multiple German footballing media sources report that the Fuggerstädter do maintain a €5 million purchase option as part of the arrangement.

Biel enjoyed immense success under Thorup during two seasons spent playing in the Danish capital, scoring 26 goals and registering 23 assists in 78 appearances. Biel enjoyed still more success after transferring to Olympiacos for €6 million ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. This year, he's been utilized less, yet still scored four goals in 13 league appearances.

"I'm delighted that the transfer has worked out after very good talks with those responsible," Biel noted in his statement accompanying the signing, "FC Augsburg is an ambitious and family-oriented club, where I want to build on my successful time in Copenhagen. Of course, it helps that in Jess I have a coach who knows exactly how to make the best use of my strengths."

"He was a top performer there," Thorup himself told members of the assembled media whilst speaking at a Thursday presser prior to the confirmation of the deal, "He can play striker, on the wing, ten and even eight, and is also strong against the ball."
