Malen on target against ex-club as Dortmund draw in Eindhoven

Donyell Malen's opener was cancelled out by a Luuk de Jong penalty as Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1 with PSV in Eindhoven.
Everything remains up for grabs between PSV and Borussia Dortmund after the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie ended in a 1-1 draw at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven on Tuesday night.

After Malik Tillman missed the first big chance of the night for PSV in the 16th minute, firing wide from a promising position, Dortmund took the lead instead.

It was Donyell Malen who drew first blood against his former club midway through the first half, breaking away from two players before unleashing a shot that was deflected in.

After a strong start to the second half, PSV pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 56th minute when Luuk de Jong converted after Mats Hummels was adjudged to have fouled Tillman in the area.

After PSV's equaliser, the game calmed down a bit, with both teams seemingly able to live with the result. However, an acrobatic backheel volley from Marius Wolf almost put Dortmund ahead again in the 72nd minute, while Johan Bakayoko and Sergino Dest had efforts saved at the other end of the pitch.

Ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving everything to play for in the return leg in Dortmund on March 13.
