Bayern Munich vs. Lazio preview: Team news and predicted lineups

Here is our preview of Tuesday's Champions League round of 16 second leg clash between Bayern Munich and Lazio, including predicted lineups.

In what could potentially be Thomas Tuchel's last game as Bayern Munich coach, the German champions host Lazio at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Bavarians have their backs to the wall after a 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture in Italy, which led to the announcement that Thomas Tuchel will step down as Bayern coach this summer.

But should Bayern crash out of Europe's premier club competition on Tuesday, Tuchel could be sacked straight away, with the Bavarians already out of the DFB-Pokal and unlikely to win the Bundesliga, lying 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern have won just one of their last five games and are coming off yet another unconvincing performance in Freiburg, where they were held to a 2-2 draw.

Their opponents, Lazio, are not in great form either, sitting ninth in Serie A and coming off back-to-back defeats. Most recently, the Italian capital club had three players sent off in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan.

On the personnel front, Leroy Sané looks set to return to the Bayern squad after missing the 2-2 draw with Freiburg.

"He's not been able to play without pain for a while. He can hopefully train fully today. He trained fully yesterday. He has a pain threshold he can tolerate. As things stand, he'll be in the squad and can play," said Tuchel at his pre-match press conference on Monday, where he also confirmed that Alphonso Davies is fit enough to play 90 minutes after working his way back from injury.

Dayot Upamecano (suspension), Kingsley Coman (hamstring), Daniel Peretz (knee) and Bouna Sarr (knee) will miss the game for Bayern, while Serge Gnabry (groin) is questionable.

Lazio will be without Patric (groin), while Nicolo Rovella is doubtful with a groin problem.
