After a tense 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Allianz Arena, everything is up for grabs as Bayern Munich travel to the Spanish capital for the Champions League semifinal second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

For the second week in a row, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel rested Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané in the Bundesliga, this time in a 3-1 loss to VfB Stuttgart.

The defeat was far from ideal, but with the Bundesliga title out of reach, avoiding further injuries was clearly a major priority ahead of the crucial Champions League clash in Madrid.

Unfortunately for Bayern, Raphael Guerreiro picked up an injury that could sideline him for the rest of the season. Kingsley Coman, Sacha Boy and Bouna Sarr remain sidelined, while the Bavarians hope to have Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano back in contention.

De Ligt's return to the heart of the defense would be particularly important for Bayern, as Kim Minjae struggled in his place in the first leg.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are coming off a 3-0 win over Cadiz that secured them the La Liga title. Coach Carlo Ancelotti also opted to rotate his squad heavily, with Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Toni Kroos among those receiving rest.

With Dani Carvajal back in the side after a suspension, former Bayern man David Alaba is the only Real Madrid player missing.
