Florian Neuhaus: I feel cursed in front of goal

Gladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus would like to contribute with more goals.
Florian Neuhaus says he's working on his finishing ability as he's determined to become more dangerous in front of goal.

The 22-year-old, who has scored just once in 15 appearances this season, told Sport Bild:

"I feel like I'm cursed in front of goal this season. I get my chances, but the ball just doesn't want to go in. I've never been a player in the mold of Michael Ballack who often moves into the penalty area to take a shot. Nevertheless, I'm working intensively on my finishing in training."

Neuhaus has been compared to Toni Kroos because of his playing style, but the 22-year-old insists he wants to make a name for himself.

"I want to go my own way. But I really like watching Toni Kroos, and I can definitely learn a few things from him. I believe I'm a bit more offensive-minded than Kroos, though."

The central midfielder joined Gladbach from Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2018 and recently extended his contract until 2024.
