RB Leipzig vs. Wolfsburg preview: Die Roten Bullen looking to extend unbeaten streak

Leipzig may be enjoying a lengthy unbeaten streak, but they saw a run of four consecutive wins come to an end in last Friday’s away clash with Hoffenheim. Die Roten Bullen appeared to have the game in their control when Benjamin Šeško opened the scoring in the 38th minute. However, the complexion of the contest changed with Xavi Simon’s 72nd-minute red card. Hoffenheim made full use of the numerical advantage to net a late equaliser through Andrej Kramarić.
Despite dropping two points, Leipzig remain in fourth position with two games left to play against Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt. With the top five all guaranteed a Champions League place, Leipzig ultimately have little to play for in the next couple of games. However, they will still be keen to maintain their current position and achieve a top-four finish for a sixth consecutive season.
They will also want to claim maximum points in their final home match of the season. The hosts will certainly fancy their chances of collecting all three points, having won five of their previous six home league games.

Leipzig boss Marco Rose has revealed that a late decision will be made on David Raum and Dani Olmo, with the duo struggling with injury and illness respectively. Simons is set to serve a one-match suspension, while Xaver Schlager is ruled out after he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Hoffenheim.
Werder Bremen
Bremen are enjoying a promising run of form, with their last three matches producing two wins and one draw. Ole Werner’s side recorded consecutive wins over Stuttgart and Augsburg before they played host to Borussia Mönchengladbach. They appeared to be on course to clinch a third successive victory when Nick Woltemade netted a brace to give his side a 2-1 lead. However, Florian Neuhaus scored a stoppage-time spot-kick to deny Bremen all three points.
Although Bremen are sitting in 11th place, they could still achieve European qualification this season. There is a chance that eighth and even ninth place could become European spots in the next few weeks. With that in mind, die Werderaner will be motivated to climb into the top half of the table in their final two games against Leipzig and Bochum.
Having lost all six away meetings with Leipzig, Bremen are looking to claim their first-ever points at the Red Bull Arena.
