Ozan Kabak explains why he didn't join Bayern and reveals desire to play in England

Schalke 04's Ozan Kabak talks about his decision to reject interest from Bayern München and says he targets a move to the Premier League in the future.
Ozan Kabak has explained why he rejected interest from Bayern München to join Schalke 04 from VfB Stuttgart last summer.

The 19-year-old held talks with the Bavarians, but was convinced to come to Veltins-Arena by Schalke 04 coach David Wagner and technical director Michael Reschke.

"My agent and I spoke with Bayern. I'm a young player. It's important for my development to play a lot. That's why, after very good discussions with David Wagner and Michael Reschke, I decided to come to Schalke. The concept here fits me the best," Kabak told Sport Bild.

In the future, the young centre-back would like to play in the English Premier League.

"It's one of my goals. I want to stay in Germany for a few more years, and then I hope I can take the next step to England," Kabak said and added:

"The Bundesliga is at a top level, but the Premier League is the biggest and best league in the world right now."

The Turkish international has made 14 appearances this season, scoring three goals and making one assist.
