Official: Charles Aranguiz extends Leverkusen contract

Bayer Leverkusen have extended Charles Aranguiz's contract until 2023.
Charles Aranguiz has put pen to paper on a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen, the club have announced.

The central midfielder's deal was due to run out this summer, but he has now penned an extension until 2023.

"I've seen a lot here and played a lot of great games with excellent teammates. This club and the staff have always supported me and made me feel welcome here - especially in the beginning when I couldn't play for a long time because of my achilles tendon rupture," Aranguiz said in a statement.

"I'm having a wonderful time here, and I'm going to give everything so that we can achieve someting big together in the next three years," he added.

Leverkusen paid €13 million to sign the 31-year-old from Brazilian outfit Internacional in 2015.
