Report: Sarr deal nears finish line, Cuisance in Marseille as Bayern try again

When pressed about the spectacular failure of the Michael Cuisance to Leeds United deal, Bayern trainer Hans Dieter Flick emphatically noted, "Our medical department sees it completely differently."

Bayern bet that Olympique de Marseille will accept a healthy player as they prepare to purchase one of their regular defenders.

Multiple sources now confirm that Bayern's Michael Cuisance has arrived in Marseille, where he is to undergo another medical to complete a loan deal with the French club. Among others, French football program "Telefoote" verified his arrival on Sunday evening.

New details have emerged concerning the collapse of Cuisance's transfer to Leeds on Thursday. A lengthy article in The Athletic lists the cause of the failed medical as a scan that turned up a problem with one of the Frenchman's feet. A prolonged discussion of the 21-year-old's apparent disciplinary issues, however, suggests that there may have been more at play.

Other French news sources report that, whether Cuisance becomes part of the deal or not, the transfer of 28-year-old right back Bouna Sarr has been completed. OM will receive a €10 million transfer fee plus bonuses. This information comes from French radio station RMC and newspaper "La Provence".

It would appear that Sarr shall serve as the back-up to Benjamin Pavard that Hans Dieter Flick sought; a need left unfulfilled when Ajax's Sergino Dest opted to transfer to FC Barcelona.
