SC Verl positives lead to second Bundesliga Three cancelation of weekend
Third-division side SC Verl announced an additional positive COVID test in their ranks on Saturday morning. As a result, the fixture against FSV Zwickau has been postponed.
Another postponement (Hallescher FC vs. SpVgg Unterhaching) pushes the total number of third-division suspended matches to two for the weekend and five overall through eight rounds.
Another postponement (Hallescher FC vs. SpVgg Unterhaching) pushes the total number of third-division suspended matches to two for the weekend and five overall through eight rounds.
For the visiting team, this serves as the second match postponement in a row. Four positive tests--later revealed to be "false positives"--forced a postponement of their seventh round fixture against Türkgücü München last Friday evening. Traveling SpVgg Unterhaching went into a quarantine on Friday evening when it was revealed that one of the players that they brought with them to Halle tested positive for the novel virus.
Two other third-league clubs, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and 1860 München, also spent some time in quarantine this week following positive tests in their squads. In both of those instances, however, enough negatives in the second rounds of testing enabled the teams to exit isolation and their weekend fixtures to go forward.
