Four Bundesliga Three clubs report new COVID cases as more cancellations loom

The midweek news from Germany's third professional football tier isn't great. Among the four clubs reporting positive corona-cases, SV Meppen appears to preside over German football's first major outbreak.
Dynamo Dresden, FSV Zwickau, SC Verl, and SV Meppen all confirmed positive COVID tests among their ranks on Wednesday. As of yet, no weekend  fixtures in Bundesliga Three have been cancelled. It nevertheless seems foreseeable that there will be even more cancelations in the third division than last weekend.

SC Verl announced that an additional three cases have been discovered in their roster since last Friday. This brings the total number at the club to five. The entire team and support staff remain in domestic quarantine following the cancellation of their eighth round matchup.

Dynamo Dresden discovered two positives on Tuesday, yet has already resumed training after a precautionary 24-hour team-wide isolation period and a second round of tests. Matters are less hopeful for Dresden's opponents over the weekend, SV Meppen.

Meppen reported a record seven cases in the team. All players and staff will remain in isolation through Thursday.

FSV Zwickau confirmed one positive test, yet will still kick off against Türkgücü München later this evening.
