14 days ago, Bild reported that Bayern München have decided against extending Jerome Boateng's contract, which runs out at the end of the season, and the centre-back has said claimed he's no longer thinking about his expiring deal.

However, speaking to Sky, FC Bayern board member Oliver Kahn has insisted that a contract extension with Boateng is not yet off the table.

The responsible at the club and Boateng are "in contact," Kahn said before Bayern's 3-1 victory over RB Salzburg on Wednesday before adding:

"There is nothing to worry about. We will hold talks at the appropriate time and come to a fair decision.

"We are aware of what he has achieved and is currently able to achieve for Bayern München."

The experienced centre-back has started five games in a row for the German champions.
