New Rashica injury may spell end of Bremen career

SV Werder Bremen revealed on Wednesday that Milot Rashica will likely be unavailable through January. The Kosovar's latest set-back may effectively mean he has played his last match for the club.

Milot Rashica had to break off training on Tuesday. A subsequent MRI disclosed that the 24-year-old incurred a serious tendon injury in his left thigh. The club now reports that he will be sidelined through Christmas, and will probably even miss the January re-start after the Bundesliga's abridged winter break.

The club's website reports that Rashica "will not be available for the green-whites until the end of January". The website also quotes trainer Florian Kohfeldt, who expressed regret that his star attacker suffered this set-back after "regaining full fitness following his previous injury."

After a last-minute deal to send the disaffected Kosovar to Leverkusen broke down on October 5th, rumors have continued to swirl that a deal may be completed when the transfer market re-opens in a short 28 days time.

The new injury may mean that Rashica's time with the Hanseaten may now be over.
