VfL Wolfsburg are reportedly planning to get rid of Oliver Glasner as coach even if the 46-year-old doesn't find a new club.

Oliver Glasner is set to leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season, no matter if he finds a new club or not, according to Sportbuzzer and Kronen Zeitung.

Despite third-placed Wolfsburg's impressive results this season, Glasner has no future at Volkswagen Arena due to his strained relationship with sporting managing director Jörg Schmadtke, as per the reports.

With Wolfsburg already said to be in advanced talks to appoint Mark van Bommel as his successor, Glasner could potentially be heading to Frankfurt or Leverkusen, both of whom are looking for a new coach.

Glasner is understood to have a €4.5 million release clause in his contract, which runs until 2022. Should he fail to find a new employer himself, Wolfsburg would have to relieve him of his duties.
