Germany's Sport Bild reports that Bayer 04 Leverkusen wish to play a role in the revived race for German national team starter Matthias Ginter of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Bundesrepublik's Sport Bild notes further that Ginter's relationship with club management is strained as a result. It is then suggested that, just like last summer, the German national team defender will be the subject of many transfer rumors.
A currently market value of €30 million will only increase if Ginter earns more starts for die Nationalmannschaft. In the German national team's Euro opener against France, Ginter made several crucial tackles that were understandably overshadowed by the some of the more notable plays involving back-three line-mate Mats Hummels.
Sport Bild goes on to list Bayer Leverkusen as a potential Bundesliga suitor for Ginter. Germany's red company team still maintains sizable cash reserves from the transfers of Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland last Summer.
Moreover, the departures of Alexsandr Dragovic and the retirement of the Bender twins leave die Werkself with exigent needs in central defense. Jonathan Tah, Tin Jedvaj, and Wendell Borges are assumed to be on the way out.
Leverkusen have already been linked with Jeremiah St. Juste, Kristoffer Ajer, and Nico Schlotterbeck as part of their quest to shore up central defense.
