Bayern lose Pavard through end of August

Bad news out of Bayern camp late Wednesday as it was revealed that starting right-back Benjamin Pavard will miss three to four weeks with an ankle injury.
French international Benjamin Pavard may be out for up to a month after suffering an ankle injury in training. The news was confirmed late Wednesday by editor-in-chief of Karlheinz Wild of German footballing magazine Kicker.

Pavard is thus not an option for the season-opener on Friday against Gladbach, the Super Cup at Dortmund on Tuesday, the August 25th Pokal match, and likely the two remaining league fixtures before the international break in early September.

Julian Nagelsmann encounters problems as back-up Bouna Sarr is widely considered to be an inadequate replacement. Nagelsmann's predecessor Hansi Flick played both American international Chris Richards and even Niklas Süle at right-back last season.
