Official confirmation is still pending, but it appears as if the injury sustained by the USA's Giovanni Reyna while on international duty will at the very least keep him out action this weekend against Leverkusen. This was reported in the Wednesday evening edition of North Rhine Westphalia's "Ruhr Nachrichten".

The report does not claim that any of examinations have been completed and a long term prognosis is still lacking. At last check, German footballing magazine Kicker reported that the 18-year-old's injury relates to a tendon strain, which in theory shouldn't be too serious.

As pertains to the class of Americans playing each week in Germany's top footballing flight, there was actually big news coming out of the FC Bayern camp. Facing the need to augment his current squad of 25 active players, Julian Nagelsmann has called up two Americans to the senior team practice sessions.

As reported by German broadcaster Sport1 earlier in the day, both 20-year-old midfielder/defender Taylor Booth and 19-year-old forward/attacking midfielder Malik Tillman will receive a regular place training amongst the pros.

Booth, a Utah native, has spent three years on the Bayern campus after being scouted from Real Salt Lake. He's gotten off to a solid start this year, scoring one goal in three appearances for FCB Bayern II in the Bavarian Regionalliga.

Tillman, the younger brother of SpVgg Greuther Fürth's Timothy Tillman, has tallied five times for the Bayern reserves during their time in the 3. Bundesliga. He also netted three goals out on loan in the Austrian top flight.

Both players made the trip to Bremen for Bayern's opening round Pokal fixture against fifth tier opponent Bremer SV, where they both made their professional debut. Tilmann tallied in the 12-0 romp.

"Julian always stops by the training of the U23s and has already come to campus," developmental director Holger Seitz explained to the German broadcaster when pressed for comment, "Exchanges are fairly solid. The young players trust that the door is always open for the [Jamal] Musialas and [Josip] Stanisics."
