Pavlović jokes about Kane's salary and explains why Mainz away is always difficult

Following the final whistle, Aleks Pavlović discussed the challenges of playing at the Mewa Arena, praised Lennart Karl's recent performances and shared his thoughts on Vincent Kompany's potential return after the international break.

Bayern managed to get a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Mainz 05 in an exciting Bundesliga encounter. Aleksandar Pavlović explained why Mainz remain a difficult opponent on home soil, pointing to their physical approach and direct style of play.

"I think it's because Mainz play a very unpleasant style of football. They play a lot of long balls and constantly look for second balls. They also try to win as many fouls as possible. That makes things difficult, but I think we dealt with it well today and deserved to win," he said.

The midfielder was also pleased to see Lennart Karl continue his impressive form despite the criticism surrounding the young forward.

"As a professional footballer, you simply have to be able to deal with things like that. I don't think he pays too much attention to what's going on outside. He just gets on with things and plays his football. I'm obviously delighted that he scored today as well," Pavlovic explained.

Regarding Vincent Kompany's potential return after the international break, the 21-year-old remained hopeful but stressed that the coach should take the time he needs.

"We'd all be delighted if he could return as soon as possible. But that's for the coach to decide. He should take as much time as he needs. Obviously, we'll be very happy when he's back."

Asked whether he had been in contact with Kompany recently, Pavlovic added: "Yeah, I saw him briefly once. That was about it."

There was also room for a joke when Kane's salary came up during the interview. Pavlovic responded with a grin: "Good thing you reminded me about his salary. I'll bring that up with him in the dressing room. Maybe he'll buy us the occasional coffee!"
