PSV Eindhoven enquired about Lutsharel Geertruida in recent days, according to Sky Sport’s Philipp Hinze. RB Leipzig preferred a permanent transfer after his loan deal at Sunderland, but that seems to be out of reach for the Dutch champions.

Leipzig currently plan to accept over €20 million for the Netherlands international. However, another loan deal is also not ruled out at this stage, according to the same report.

Geertruida played 30 games for Sunderland as they qualified for the Europa League, but the Premier League side decided against a permanent transfer. He played over 200 games for PSV’s rivals Feyenoord Rotterdam before his €20 million move to Leipzig a couple of years ago. Former Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz led PSV to three successive Eredivisie titles.
