Eintracht Braunschweig and Energie Cottbus drew goalless after an uneventful encounter at the start of matchday 11 in the 2. Bundesliga.

The hosts had a strong start with Max Marie's blocked attempt inside the first minute of the game before striker Jovan Mijatovic tested Marcel Lotka on his first start since matchday 6. Braunschweig's momentum continued until Christian Kinsombi hit the post with a brilliant effort at the other end.

Despite a similar start after the break from Lars Kornetka's side, Cottbus managed to slow down their hosts in their way of picking up their fifth draw of the campaign. Claus-Dieter Wollitz’s men will now go into the international break with a six-game winless run.

Braunschweig stretched their clean sheet record to three successive home games, but they did win the previous two against Holstein Kiel and Hannover. The two teams joined five other clubs who collected 11 points before the rest of action this weekend.

Both would face promotion hopefuls on matchday 11 as Braunschweig will travel to second-placed Nürnberg before Cottbus host league leaders Hertha BSC the following day.
