Adli done for 2024 after undergoing surgery

Bayer 04 Leverkusen officially confirmed a grim injury prognosis for attacker Amine Adli on Thursday afternoon.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen head-coach Xabi Alonso was not optimistic about the prospects of attacker Amine Adli after the Moroccan international had to be subbed off in last night's 1-1 draw away at Stade Best. On Thursday, Germany's red company team confirmed surgery for the 24-year-old. Adli suffered a fractured fibula on the pitch yesterday evening.

As the club itself confirmed, Adli is not expected back until after the turn of the calendar year. Adli hadn't featured much under Xabi this year and had not rotten his name the scoresheet in 11 appearances (three starts) across all competitions. Adli came on as a substitute last night, logging only 18 minutes before needing to come off.
