Florian Wirtz has been passed fit for Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The attacking midfielder was forced off at the break of Germany's 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Monday, and Leverkusen since revealed that he sustained an injury to the joint capsule in his right ankle.

But despite this, Wirtz is fit enough to be in Die Werkself's squad to face Eintracht Frankfurt, head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed on Friday.

“Everyone is back together after the break. All the players are fit and have trained today. We're ready for tomorrow,” said Xabi Alonso, adding that this also applies to Wirtz.

"He's in the squad," he emphasized.

Whether he will be in the starting eleven, however, is doubtful.

“We'll see tomorrow. If he can play, it means he's feeling better. That's the most important thing.”
