Alonso outlines high expectations for Terrier

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has revealed just how much he expects from new signing Martin Terrier.

Martin Terrier scored his first goal for Bayer Leverkusen since joining from Stade Rennes in Saturday's 4-1 win over Hoffenheim.

After the game, Bayer 04 coach Xabi Alonso spoke very highly of Terrier, whom he expects a lot from.

"Martin has a great ability to play in tight spaces and score goals in the box," said Xabi Alonso, according to Kicker.

The Spaniard also highlighted the new signing's attitude.

"He's a good guy, who has the desire to improve, to learn," he explained, before making it clear that he expects the Frenchman to become even better with time.

"I had high expectations for Martin. It was only his third game. But my expectations are even higher. We have a very, very good player in Martin".
