Another suitor emerges for Gosens

Benfica is the latest club to be linked with a move for Union Berlin's Robin Gosens.

Robin Gosens could be on his way out the door at Union Berlin after a disappointing campaign that saw the capital club narrowly avoid relegation.

Having previously been linked with a return to Italy, where he played for many years before joining Union last summer, Gosens is now said to have attracted interest from SL Benfica.

According to both Portuguese publication A Bola and Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese giants are investigating the possibility of signing the left-back.

However, a potential stumbling block is Union's reported price tag of €12 million.

According to Romano, Union recently turned down an offer from Bologna to sign Gosens on loan with a €7 million option to buy.

Gosens, who was signed from Inter last summer for a reported €13 million, scored seven goals and added four assists in 37 appearances for Union in the 2023/24 season.
