Augsburg send Beljo out on loan

FC Augsburg have sent Dion Beljo out on loan to Rapid Vienna.

FC Augsburg have confirmed that Dion Beljo will spend the coming season out on loan.

The 22-year-old Croatian striker makes the switch to Rapid Vienna on a one-year loan deal.

"Dion is a young player with a lot of potential in the striker position. The loan to Rapid Vienna should give him a lot of playing time, which he didn't get to the extent he and we had hoped for last season," said Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic.

“The loan is therefore the best option for him to show off his skills and above all to play regularly. We wish Dion a successful season with as many goals as possible in Austria.”

Beljo, whose Augsburg contract expires in 2027, commented:

“My clear goal is to get more minutes and points through the loan to Vienna and to play a lot of games from the start. I'd like to thank everyone involved for making this loan possible and I'm looking forward to the new season at Rapid.”

Beljo found the net twice in 26 Bundesliga appearances last season. He started three times.
