Brooks and Adams leave Hoffenheim

TSG Hoffenheim have confirmed that John Anthony Brooks and Kasim Adams are leaving the club.

TSG Hoffenheim announced the departure of centre-back duo John Anthony Brooks and Kasim Adams on Tuesday.

Both Brooks and Adams are out of contract on 30 June.

Commenting on the departure of Brooks, who joined Hoffenheim from Benfica in January 2023, the club's managing director, Alexander Rosen, said:

"Jay came to us in a very challenging sporting situation to bring stability to the defence with his enormous experience and personality.

"With his qualities and remarkable presence, he had an impact on our game from day one. Over the past year and a half, Jay has played a key role in helping us stay out of the relegation zone last season and qualify for a European competition this term," said Rosen of Brooks, who has scored twice in 39 appearances for Hoffenheim.

As for Adams, who was signed from Young Boys for a reported €8 million in 2018, Rosen admits that things never really went the way all parties had hoped.

"In the case of Kasim, we have to openly admit that the signing did not work out for either side from a sporting point of view. His time with us had few sporting highlights, despite his always impeccable and professional behaviour," said Rosen.

“But what often went unnoticed was the role Kasim played as a person in the team. He always had a smile on his face, even in difficult times, and his infectious friendliness made him a respected member of our team. We wish Kasim and Jay all the best for the future.”

Adams made a total of 38 appearances for Hoffenheim.
