VfB Stuttgart forward Deniz Undav is not expecting to be called up for Germany's upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
The 30-year-old was asked whether he was hoping for a call-up in the mixed zone after Stuttgart's 2-0 defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“Not at all. Without goals, it's difficult to get into the squad,” he replied, adding that he had yet to receive any indication that he could be selected.
“No, I don't know anything yet.”
Undav has found the net just twice in 14 appearances in all competitions this season and is still waiting for his first Bundesliga goal of the 2026/27 campaign.
“I have no comment on why there have been so few goals. I genuinely don't know. I'm trying to work on it, but it's just not happening. Somehow, I can't seem to get going,” Undav said.
Having left Undav out of his first squad, Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp is set to announce his second selection on Thursday.
