FC Augsburg will be without Samuel Essende until after the international break.

The German Football Association (DFB) has announced a two-match suspension for the striker, meaning he will miss the upcoming matches against RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After that, there will be an international break, so Essende will not be able to return to action until October 19th, when Augsburg face Freiburg.

Essende was shown a straight red card for violent conduct towards Dominik Kohr in the second half of Augsburg's 3-2 loss to Mainz.

The DFB's Control Committee took into account the fact that Essende's misconduct followed an illegal offense by Kohr on the Augsburg striker.
