Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Waldemar Anton from VfB Stuttgart.

The Black and Yellows announced the capture of the German international defender on a contract until 2028 on Monday evening.

“I am really looking forward to my first game at Signal Iduna Park, the fans and my teammates,” said Anton.

"Originally I didn't want to change clubs - but then Borussia Dortmund came along. A top club that has just reached the Champions League final. That shows the potential this club has.

"Everyone at BVB gave me the feeling right from the start that they really wanted to sign me and that I could and should play an important role. I'm really ready for it," said the defender.

Borussia Dortmund's managing director for sport, Lars Ricken, said:

"Waldemar Anton has developed into a top defender in the Bundesliga, both from a sporting perspective and as a personality, and recently led his club to the Champions League.

“This summer, Waldemar had first-class transfer options both nationally and internationally. We are pleased that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund after intensive and good talks.”
