Twenty-one-year-old French youth international Soumaïla Coulibaly is back in Borussia Dortmund's camp after Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp F.C. declined to exercise the purchase option included in his most recent loan arrangement. Spanish online sports journal revelo.com reports that the BVB prospect will be loaned out again ahead of the coming season. Coulibaly's BVB contract runs through 2026.
La Liga's Real Betis are apparently about to take the youngster on loan. A loan, again with a purchase clause, is currently being negotiated. Dortmund were apparently interested in sending Coulibaly to Sevilla on a permanent sale, but the Spanish club declined to pay some €10 million for the French youth international. Transfermarkt currently estimates the player to be worth €6 million.
Coulibaly made one Bundesliga appearance for the BVB seniors, regrettably committing a serious marking error in a 3-3 draw with Stuttgart on match-day 28 of the 2022/23 campaign. He has not appeared for the Dortmund first team since. Coulibaly made 32 appearances for Antwerp across all competitions last year. He's also been deployed 25 times for BVB II in the 3. Liga.
