Dortmund updates: BVB award American striker professional contract, Kamara appears headed to Fürth

Borussia Dortmund confirmed professional contract for U.S. born striker Cole Campbell early Tuesday evening. 

In other BVB-related transfer news, it looks to be the case that another Dortmund prospect will move to a different club. 

Eighteen-year-old striker Cole Campbell has been awarded a professional contract by Borussia Dortmund. The Houston-native was brought into work with the BVB U19s in January of 2023. Unfortunately for the youngster, his hitherto most prominent claim to to fame over the course of the past year was a reported curfew breach this past January.

Campbell has nevertheless also managed to impress on the pitch. The teenager, trained in both American and Icelandic academies, netted 11 goals and registered 13 assists for the BVB U19s last year. His new fully professional contract runs through 2028. Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl called Campbell "an exciting talent who has madden enormous step forward."

In other BVB-related transfer news, Sky Germany reports that former PSG talent Abdoulaye Kamara will make the move to SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The 19-year-old has not yet made a senior team appearance since Dortmund snatched him up on a free three summers ago. The young central midfielder - who maintains a €1.5 million estimated market worth - made 13 3.Liga appearances last year.
