Former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmöller's stint at RC Lens has come to an end after just six matches.

The Ligue 1 club terminated of the German's contract on Tuesday, praising the 45-year-old's respectful handling of the situation.

Following ongoing discussions all season long, Toppmöller was informed that the coaching staff would be restructured by the club.

His confidant, Nelson Morgado, in particular, was said to have caused friction between the coaching ticket and the club's hierarchy.

Ultimately, Toppmöller was unable to support this decision, hence Lens' decision to dismiss both him and assistant coach, Ervin Skela.

Furthermore, Toppmöller's playing style has recently been heavily criticized by fans after a mixed start to the season in all competitions.

The club pointed out that Toppmöller, originally contracted until 2028, has waived a significant portion of his severance payment.
